STAR WARS? Really??

There have been many who have heard about the online Jedi Community and thought it was

a joke. We've been made fun of, mocked, and denied.

No doubt, many of you who have told others about being a Jedi or Sith have been met with confusion or even ridicule. After all, we're basing a philosophy and/or religion on a series of science fiction movies, right?

Well that's where it gets tricky. Certainly, the concepts of Jedi, Sith, and the Force are fictional. But with some study and reflection you can see that these ideas are based on real beliefs, real concepts. The Chinese have the terms "Tao" and "Chi", Christians believe in a Holy Spirit, which I personally believe represent something we might call "the Force".

On the other hand, you can look at it scientifically. EVERYTHING is made of energy. And what does Ben Kenobi tell us? "The Force is an energy field that surrounds all living things." All matter—the computer in front of you, the chair you're sitting in, the air you are breathing—is made of energy. It's no big feat to come to the conclusion that the Force is just the nature of all things.

If everything is energy, then Star Wars—or perhaps, more specifically, George Lucas—got it right. The Force is with you...
