So what is a Jedi? Everyone knows that the word Jedi originated from Star Wars, but real Jedi have nothing to do with Star Wars. We gave ourselves this name because our philosophy is almost the same as the philosophy of the term in a movie.
People like Anakin Skywalker or Obi-wan Kenobi are fictional characters. We just make analogies, otherwise we live in a fantasy world.
Jedi is not a religion. The religion is an absurd and dogmatic ideology called Jediism.
What is the Force? What we call the Force is the energy that holds the universe together and is present in everything, whether we are atheists or have some other ideology. For atheists and agnostics, the term "Force" is more related to science.
A Jedi must have his own morals and rules, but he must be respectful to all. Otherwise we are no better than the Sith.
